July 4th at Whisperwood
« on: July 07, 2013, 05:12:42 PM »
The July 4th week was unusually warm at Whisperwood with temperatures in the 90's every day - the surface water temp. was 80 degrees and if the warm weather continues the mid 80's is very possible.
Interesting enough big bass were caught around cover in the shallows and out off the structure in 15 feet of water as well.  The bass are clearly in their summer spots and you can find big bass in Salmon and McGrath lakes and they are catchable if you put in the time and patience.  Check the July big bass page. My top 5 bag bass limit - 18.5 pounds.

If you want a chance to catch one of these Maine big bass, make your reservation, give Doug & Candee a call - remember, Whisperwood's  week long bass tournament is the third week in August and there are still cabins available.  There are largemouth and smallmouth bass winners - T-shirts and cash prizes!
