In today’s world,
family ties can be divided by many miles and busy schedules making it
almost impossible to get all family members together. Some families
have found a summertime lakeside family reunion in Maine to be the
perfect solution to getting everyone together. The whole family plans
their vacation time around the reunion date and take advantage of the
very unique facilities that a Maine Sporting Camp can provide.
Family Reunions
Whisperwood has a long tradition of
being a favorite summer family reunion location. Each year we host
several family reunions with a number of these families returning year
after year to enjoy what we have to offer. We do our best to
accommodate families in reserving neighboring
cottages
adjacent to each other during their stay. Families get to do a
lot of “catching- up” with each other while enjoying leisurely days
sunbathing, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, motor boating, fishing or
playing a game of horseshoes among the many on site
activities available. There are
also beautiful hiking trails, golf courses and other great
area attractions just a short
drive away from our convenient location in Central Maine. At meal
time our dinning room becomes a memorable place for good food and
great stories about the day’s activities. When evening rolls around,
you can find family members out enjoying a beautiful sunset over the
lake while canoeing, kayaking or just trying to catch that one last
fish of the day. Others may be found
hanging-out and socializing in the recreation hall or
toasting marshmallows at the camp fire ring on the waterfront. Quiet
time can be spent relaxing at the jigsaw puzzle table in the lodge or
just laying back with a good book. Our motto is "It’s your
vacation", relax and enjoy being with the family and let us cook
the meals and make your bed.
Weddings

Whisperwood makes a perfect setting for
small and intimate lakeside weddings. You and your guests can
enjoy an indoor or outdoor ceremony venue with a catered reception all
included in one package. Lodging with meals and other outdoor
activities and adventures for the wedding party, family and friends
can be arranged. We enjoy having weddings here at Whisperwood
and will work closely with you to make your special day a perfect one.
